Position Summary:
The Allergy Technician will assist in the delivery of high-quality allergy care to patients. This role involves performing allergy testing, administering allergy immunotherapy, and providing patient education under the supervision of a physician. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail, excellent interpersonal skills, and a passion for patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform allergy testing, including skin prick tests, intradermal tests, and patch testsAdminister allergy immunotherapy injections and sublingual immunotherapy treatmentsPrepare and mix allergen extracts according to physician protocolsMaintain accurate and detailed patient records, including test results and treatment plansEducate patients on allergy testing procedures, treatment plans, and allergy managementonitor patients for adverse reactions to allergy tests and treatments and provide appropriate care as neededAssist in maintaining a clean and organized clinical environment, ensuring compliance with infection control protocolsOrder and manage inventory of allergy testing and treatment suppliesCollaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare team members to provide coordinated patient care
Qualifications:
Must be a Certified Medical Assistant CPR certification is requiredPrevious experience as an allergy technician or in a similar clinical role is highly desirable.Knowledge of allergy testing methods, immunotherapy protocols, and related medical terminologyStrong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate recordsExcellent interpersonal and communication skillsAbility to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environmentBasic computer skills and familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems
