Job Summary
The BI Analyst position involves working in the Global Business Intelligence team at ADTRAN INC in Huntsville. The analyst will be responsible for defining, creating, analyzing, and delivering reporting requirements to support business decisions. This includes generating clear and insightful reports and dashboards to present findings to stakeholders, utilizing BI tools like Tableau and Qlik to visualize data and make it accessible for business users. The successful candidate will be a highly motivated, energetic individual who can work well with various teams, including IT, Business, and Application teams.
Duties and Responsibilities
The candidate's primary responsibility will be to perform any or all of the following tasks at various times, as dictated by project needs:
Data Analysis: The analyst is responsible for collecting, processing, and analyzing complex data sets to inform business decisions, including identifying trends, patterns, and insights that can aid in strategic planning. Reporting: Create clear and insightful reports and dashboards to present findings to stakeholders. This may involve using BI tools to visualize data and make it accessible to non-technical team members. Provide technical specifications and documentation as part of all deliverables. Support: Manage BI helpdesk tickets, maintenance, upgrades, and other support tasks for the BI environment. Serve as a point of contact for questions regarding reporting issues. Data Modeling: Develop and maintain data models that support reporting and analysis processes, ensuring data accuracy and integrity. Document: Document system requirements and system specifications Collaboration: Work closely with different departments (e.g., Sales, Operations, and Finance) to understand their data needs and provide actionable insights. Business Strategy Support: Assist in the development of business strategies by providing data-driven recommendations and forecasting future trends based on historical data. Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to enhance data collection and analysis processes, ensuring that the business intelligence frameworks evolve with changing business needs. Stakeholder Communication: Effectively communicate findings and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences, ensuring clarity and impact.
Qualifications
The following qualifications highlight the analytical and technical proficiency required for a Business Intelligence Analyst, as well as the importance of collaboration and communication within the role:
• A degree in Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline; or equivalent work experience.
• 3+ years of practical and proven experience with analytical/mining tools (e.g., Tableau, Qlik) in analyzing and resolving problems and optimizing performance in complex reporting environments.
• Strong knowledge of MS SQL Server (T-SQL, SSIS, SSAS) and data modeling (star schemas, dimensions, etc.), Snowflake experience a plus..
• Technical leadership experience is required
• Solid understanding of application and data security specifically with regards to ensuring SOX compliance
• Experience in Python is a plus.
• Strong verbal and written English communication skills.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the US.
• Willing to take responsibility from day one in a challenging work environment and engage in "on-the-job" training as part of a committed team.
