Essential Qualities

Tulsa Educare is seeking a dynamic and visionary School Director to lead and oversee the daily operations of our early childhood education program. This leadership role involves supervising a multidisciplinary team, including Mentor Coaches, the Assistant Director, the Director of Family Services, the Mental Health Specialist, and indirectly supervising classroom staff, Family Advocates, Kitchen staff, and Administrative staff. The School Director ensures the effective delivery of relationship-based, family-centered services and reflective supervision while maintaining compliance with local, state, and federal standards. By fostering an environment of excellence and innovation, the School Director plays a pivotal role in achieving optimal outcomes for infants, toddlers, preschool children, and their families.

  Essential Functions

Leadership & Supervision:

• Provide reflective and supportive supervision to staff, fostering a culture of professional growth and collaboration.
• Supervise the Assistant Director, Mentor Coaches, Director of Family Services and Mental Health Specialist through a shared decision-making approach.
• Lead regular staff meetings to ensure effective communication, coordination, and process improvement.
• Conduct performance evaluations and support professional development goals for all assigned staff.

Program Excellence:

• Implement research-based strategies to drive program improvement and ensure positive child outcomes.
• Monitor compliance with Educare Learning Network (ELN) standards, Oklahoma DHS licensing, NAEYC accreditation, and other regulatory requirements.
• Support the implementation of Creative Curriculum, Program for Infant-Toddler Care (PITC) and our social emotional curriculum.

Family Engagement

• Promote relationship-based practices that engage families as active partners in their children's education.
• Maintain open communication with staff to ensure seamless service delivery to children and families.
• Collaborate with the Director of Family Services to  develop the family engagement initiatives based off of data from family and child assessments

Operational Management:

• Oversee facility and safety regulations, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for children, families, and staff.
• Manage compliance with state and federal programs, including CACFP food programs and childcare subsidy requirements.
• Prepare and submit routine reports, ensuring accuracy and timeliness

• Early childhood education including developmental trajectories and effective innovative practices   
• Demonstrated leadership abilities and proven successful interpersonal relationship skills 
• Understanding of Head Start Performance Standards, NAEYC criteria, DHS guidelines

• Providing professional development and coaching to early childhood educators

• Solid computer skills, including MS Office
• Experience with accounting and budgeting practices

• Master's or Bachelor's degree from an accredited university/college in Child Development, Early Childhood, Family Studies, Social Work or related field including: a minimum of six (6) approved credit hours in Early Childhood Education and three (3) approved credit hours in Business (approved college credit hours must be on the CECPD recommended approved coursework listing)
• Minimum three to five years of early childhood administration experience and supervisory/management experience that involved multiple direct and indirect reports
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States

Primarily an office position with some local travel (exposure to normal traffic hazards).  Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds. Regular and reliable attendance required.
