For more information, visit:www.gpinet.com Responsibilities: Work in a team environment to develop contract documents, including construction drawings and technical specificationsApply engineering principles pertaining to and in support of the detailed plans and construction documents for roadways and bridges under the guidance of senior engineersActively mentor and provide guidance to less experienced staffProgress and evaluate design details for bridge and culvert projectsDevelop contract drawings using MicroStation and/or AutoCADConstruct models and perform calculations using various software and/or hand calculationsReview and provide Quality Control (QC) for project engineering deliverablesInterface with other technical disciplinesDevelop cost estimates for construction documentsAttend project meetings and participate in project site visits when required Qualifications BS Civil Engineering from an accredited universityNew York State Professional Engineer (PE) required or ability to obtainMaster of Science with a concentration in structural/bridge engineering a plus5 + years of meaningful experience related to bridge engineering designShall be self-motivated, detail-oriented, organized, and eager to learn and grow professionallyPrepare design criteria using relevant codes and standardsCompetent use of relevant software such as MS OfficePreliminary and final design plan production experienceBridge load rating experience an additional benefitExperience with computer drafting and structural analysis softwareFamiliarity with AASHTO and NYSDOT Standard SpecificationsGood writing and communication skills a plus
