Director, Demand Planning (Finance)
Job Summary
This position is responsible for leading and directing all forecasting and demand planning activities across Medline's US business, with responsibility for forecasting more than $20 Billion in annual revenue. This position will drive continuous improvement in demand planning processes and forecast accuracy by directing the strategic design, staffing and execution of projects targeted to improve decision making, efficiency and results. The position will oversee and develop a diverse team of 40 employees and growing.Job Description
Direct and oversee all US demand planning functions and ensure alignment of forecast management processes with company goals and constraints.
Develop and implement forecasting strategies across multiple time horizons and aggregation levels to drive highest levels of forecast accuracy and align with other supply chain KPI's.
Lead the monthly Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process, collaborating with key stakeholders in Supply Planning, Product Divisions, Sales, and Finance to understand market trends and develop or adjust demand plans to support business objectives for each category and market segment.
Provide oversight and guidance over customer level forecast input and ongoing maintenance.
Drive continuous improvement activities and technology enhancement initiatives within the team.
Communicate regularly with senior leadership regarding status of demand planning KPIs and provide alerts regarding any anticipated risks.
Develop and mentor a high-performing team of demand planning professionals through on-boarding, open communication, training and development opportunities and performance management processes; build and maintain employee morale and motivation; ensure the team is appropriately staffed with required competencies; and cultivate a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and innovation.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
Education
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management or similar field.
Work Experience
At least 7 years direct experience in demand planning or supply planning.
At least 3 years of experience managing people, including hiring, developing, motivating and directing people as they work.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
Strong Leadership and Development skills.
Advanced knowledge of statistical forecasting methodologies and how/when to apply.
Ability to assess and initiate actions independently.
Experience in taking charge of a situation, team or project.
Demonstrated problem solving ability in an environment of rapid change and with many variables.
Experience analyzing data and/or process to identify issues, trends, or exceptions to drive improvement of results and find solutions.
Experience presenting to and communicating with various audiences (ex. others with differing language, senior management and non-technical audiences).
Excellent oral and written communication skills. Strong visual presentation skills as related to reports, scorecards, dashboards and presentations.
Strong self-accountability; proactive engagement; extreme ownership and self-driven business acumen taking into account multiple variables to arrive at financially sound decisions with respect to distribution network planning, inventory planning and procurement.
Advanced level skill in Microsoft Excel and Access.
Willingness to travel, up to 20% of the time.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
Certificate/Licensure APICS CPIM and/or CSCP, or equivalent.
Six Sigma/ Lean certification.
Medical device and distribution systems experience.
SAP Detailed Experience strongly preferred.
Experience with advanced planning tools or systems (APO, IBP, o9, Kinaxis, Blue Yonder, etc.) strongly preferred.
Familiarity with SQL, R, Python or other analytical tools for data extraction and simulation.

The anticipated salary range for this position:
$152,880.00 - $229,320.00 AnnualThe actual salary will vary based on applicant's location, education, experience, skills, and abilities. This role is bonus and/or incentive eligible. Medline will not pay less than the applicable minimum wage or salary threshold.
