Vision for Position
The Lunchroom/Recess General Assistant assists the students during lunch and recess. This person must supervise children to ensure a positive safe environment during lunch/recess time to eat and enjoy recess time. To accomplish these tasks, the Lunchroom/Recess General Assistant works closely with the staff and administration at New Millennium Academy.
Key Performance Responsibilities
General Duties
Assist in supervising the students during lunch and recess.Assist in responding to the individual needs of students.Communicate Effectively with all members of the school district.Direct movement of groups to and from the lunchroom and playground in a safe and organized manner.React To Change Productively and handle other tasks as assigned.Support the value of education.Observe, record and report student behavior.Use Appropriate behavior management techniques to maintain a positive environment.Set High expectations for student behavior.Communicate, collaborate, and cooperate with colleagues, supervisors and students.Assist in providing for the special physical needs of students.Immediately report accidents, assaults, and destruction of property and abusive behavior to the instructor and principal.Assist in lunchroom clean up.See that the district and building policies are observed during lunch and recess.Adhere to District health and safety policies.Other Duties as assigned by the direct manager, which are consistent with the general requirements and qualifications of the position.

Knowledge & Skills
Excellent organization and project management skills; ability to implement programs, manage details, and work both independently and in teams.Ability to implement procedures and systems; and the ability to manage multiple projects and set priorities accordingly.Team-player attitude and strong customer-service orientation.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent2 to 3 years of experience working in fast-paced nonprofit, corporate, or educational environment, working with students, parents and the community.Experience working in K-12 school setting preferred.Experience in managing complex project logistics with a track record of strong results.
Employment Terms:
This is a part-time, limited-term employment position that will terminate on June 9, 2025.This position does not qualify for benefits, including health insurance, retirement contributions, or paid time off.Employment in this role does not imply or guarantee continued employment beyond the stated end date.
