Coordinator-Corrosion (Finance)
JOB DESCRIPTION
Primary purpose:
Responsible for project execution and providing technical expertise in support of corrosion control and pipeline integrity. Support corrosion team in development of corrosion and atmospheric control projects. Will work directly with contractors to facilitate bids and estimates, schedule work and oversee scheduling with other intercompany departments when necessary and scheduling of inspection when required. Also responsible for execution of work in compliance with Tallgrass, Federal, state, and local requirementsMinimum requirements:
Education:
- Associate degree in a technical discipline from an accredited school or equivalent.
- A minimum of five (5) years direct work experience in crude oil/gas pipeline system corrosion operations may be considered as a substitute for a degree.
- A minimum five (5) years working experience with corrosion operations of crude oil/gas pipeline systems.
- A minimum five (5) years working experience in project management and execution and relating to corrosion projects.
- Experience in estimating, budgeting and forecasting projects.
- Experience in Atmospheric corrosion evaluation and remediation
- Experience in all phases of corrosion control and pipeline integrity
- Knowledge and experience in operation of pipeline, measurement, pump stations, compression, and all related equipment.
- Knowledge and experience in safe handling practices of crude oil, flammable gases, liquids and high- and low-pressure systems.
- Intermediate proficiency level in MS Office applications that may include but are not limited to Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and a driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers (for travel).
- Experience with CPDM and RSTRENG.
- Ability to estimate installation, operating and maintenance expenses associated with corrosion systems.
- Operate and maintain chemical injection and pressure access equipment.
- Understand and operate all corrosion related instrumentation.
- Working knowledge of AC and DC electrical systems, corrosion related portions of NEC, and NACE standards.
- Experience with chemical injection and pressure access equipment.
- Good record of safe work practices.
- Working knowledge of environmental and safety aspects of coating projects.
- Ability to complete work assignments with minimal supervision in an acceptable time frame.
- In depth working knowledge of pipeline operations, project management, risk engineering principals and DOT 192 regulations.
- Working knowledge of environmental and safety aspects of coating projects.

- Knowledge and experience with safe handling practices of products (gas and liquids).

- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Engineering, Business or a related discipline
- NACE Certification as a corrosion technician or technologist.
- NACE Certification (CP1, Blaster/Painter) AMP C7/C12
- NCCER Certification (Blaster/Painter Applicator
- Denso Applicator Training "Hand applied and Spray"
- Strong working knowledge of pipeline and corrosion attributes with ability to problem solve.
- Strong working knowledge of coating preparation and application by all means of industry standards
- Relocation to designated region may be required
The above statements describe the general nature and level of work being performed. This position may perform other duties as assigned.Essential duties and responsibilities:
- Assisting the Corrosion Supervisors and Asset Integrity Engineers with project management, assist with project scoping, bid showings, project kick off, project oversite with tech level assistance, and project inspection, including the review and updates to O&M and capital project budgets and forecasts.
- Work directly with Technicians and Supervisors to test and resolve cathodic protection and interference problems, as well as any system adjustments and implement corrective action through corrosion and maintenance personnel and oversees work of outside contractor.
- Assist the corrosion technicians with the selection of corrosion monitoring systems, the design of ground beds, drawings, specifications, and calculations.
- Generate drawings, job scope, specifications, and contract bid documents for effective long term cathodic protection systems.
- Plan, coordinate, and direct jobs, suggest priority of corrosion control projects and installation of protective measures.
- Coordinate work with regulatory, environmental, right-of-way, procurement, corrosion technicians and contracted services to complete projects.
- Review and inspect the installation, operation, and maintenance of cathodic protection facilities, power lines, galvanic anodes, and internal corrosion control facilities.
- Review as-built drawings, make corrections as needed and forward modified drawings to the records and GIS department for documentation of changes.
- Maintain required records, including job books, pipeline inspection reports and annual survey data.
- Work with Supervisors and technicians to develop and maintain atmospheric program to include prioritizing atmospheric inspections, estimating and overseeing projects with supervisor and local technician support.
- Assist in the annual review of corrosion control program with the operations supervisors, managers, and engineers.
- Assist field personnel with the evaluation, development, implementation, and maintenance of facility grounding systems.
- Assist with all ECDA and ICDA inspections and Assist with all CIS, DCVG, and ACVG surveys as needed.
- Assist corrosion technicians with A/C and D/C interference testing.
- Coordinates and assists with the integrity ILI prove up digs, including reporting all dig information to the project manager.
- Attend operations monthly safety meetings.
- Coordinate and assist with OQ training and qualification.
- Assist with the investigation of all pipeline incidents failures, corrosion related.
- Participate in federal inspections.
