Human Resources Generalist (Project Management)

The Human Resource (HR) Generalist helps with daily HR tasks, such as hiring and interviewing employees, managing pay, benefits, and leave, and helping ensure company policies are followed. It's a varied role with room to grow and take on new responsibilities.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Assist with onboarding and offboarding employees, including creating offer letters, explaining benefits, coordinating orientations, and handling employee terminations.
· Maintain employee records digitally throughout their time at the company.
· Help ensure the company follows federal, state, and local employment laws by staying updated on regulations and sharing essential updates with management.
· Protect sensitive employee information and maintain confidentiality.
· Support the process for employee transfers and promotions.
· Help carry out personnel actions, such as disciplinary actions or terminations, under guidance from the Director of Corporate Administration.
· Address routine employee concerns and issues promptly.
· Assist in staff development by supporting training programs to help employees improve their skills and job performance.
· Help plan and deliver training sessions, including new employee orientations and other HR-related topics.
· Prepare and send offer letters, negotiate start dates, and follow up as needed.
· Performs additional duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
· 2 or 3 years of experience as an HR Generalist or Benefits Coordinator.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively manage communications at all levels.
· Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict-resolution abilities.
· Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
· Proven ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
· Ability to prioritize tasks and delegate when appropriate.
· Demonstrates integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality in all tasks.
· Solid understanding of employment laws and regulations.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
· Ability to quickly learn and work with the organization's HRIS and talent management systems.
EDUCATION:
· High School diploma or above.
CLEARANCE:
· Must be able to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance.
WORK LOCATION:
· Fairfax, VA Hybrid - 2 to 3 days remote after 30 days.
