Design Certification Engineer Intern (Finance)
Overview
We are seeking a full-time Design Certification Engineer Intern in our Olathe, KS location. In this role, you will be responsible for contributing to avionics certification under the direction of a mentor or team leader.
Essential Functions
- Able to apply basic engineering concepts to the design, validation, and/or verification of aviation products.
- Support development teams through familiarity with basic product engineering processes.
- Under guidance and mentorship of an experienced design certification engineer, produce/submit key FAA documents to ensure compliance with required avionics certification
- Draft documents that are required for the certification of basic aviation projects according to TSO and regulatory standards.
- Participate in product improvement testing and develop reports to document testing efforts
- Assist with requirements development, trace matrix development and performing generic safety analysis
- Coordinate product development reviews
- Provide support to the DCE team through review/updates to procedure documents
- Complete basic certification documentation and partner with experienced DCE for signoff
- Completed coursework towards a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or Computer Engineering OR sufficient relevant experience
- Excellent academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.0 as a general rule)with the demonstrated ability to apply learned knowledge
- Superior organizational/analytical skills with keen attention to detail/quality
- Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Outstanding academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.5)
- Aviation related experience
