Research Assistant Professor, Neuromuscular Aging After Stroke - Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, McGovern Medical School (Finance)

The NeuroRecovery Research Center at TIRR Memorial Hermann Hospital is seeking a highly motivated researcher to contribute to ongoing projects. The research center is part of Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) at the University of Texas - Medical School at Houston. The research center is housed in TIRR Memorial Hermann Hospital that allows easy and convenient access to patient populations, including stroke, spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury, amputation and pain. Position Key Accountabilities:

This position is under guidance of Dr Sheng Li to develop and lead research in neuromuscular aging and sarcopenia after stroke using advanced technologies, such as HD-EMG and ultrasound imaging, and in developing rehabilitation interventions and strategy. Collaboration with other faculty members is strongly encouraged.

A significant start-up support is available for superior candidates with current research grant(s). Recent doctoral graduates with great potentials will be considered, but will be appointed as a post-doctoral fellow.

Qualifications:

A successful candidate must have a doctoral degree (PhD, MD/PhD) and recent post-doctoral training experience related to the topic of neuromuscular aging after stroke. Grant proposal writing experience is required.
