Responsibilities:
Technical support for design staff in multiple office locations under or in collaboration with State Leaders, Department Leaders and Practice Leaders
Mentor less experienced staff so they are getting the right project experience and guidance to promote and develop their growth
Travel to multiple locations to support design efforts.
Collaborate with clients to support design and safety initiatives, including policy and research.
Provide recommendations for training needs and provide input and feedback to various leadership within the Market.
Support business development strategies and specific pursuits. Technical writing and assistance for pursuits and new projects.
Attend conferences and events including speaking engagements.
Minimum Qualifications:
B.S. in Civil or Transportation Engineering. M.S. in Transportation Engineering preferred. 20 years' experience in roadway engineering is required. State DOT or FHWA experience is strongly desired.
Professional Engineer (P.E.) licensure is required.
Experience in transportation engineering design, research, policy work required. Knowledge of the practical application of engineering principles, practices and techniques.
Ability to research, learn and teach innovative solutions and best practices in the industry.
Ability to demonstrate strong organizational, project, and time management skills.
Ability to be proactive in determining the necessary steps to meet objectives and performance expectations of position.
Ability to work independently on multiple tasks and serve as a team member in project groups. Strong communication (written and oral) skills. Ability to interact professionally and comfortably with a variety of personalities and communication styles.
Strong understanding and experience in nationwide design policies and procedures.
Client relationships within our existing client base required.
