As an Esthetician, you offer resort guests an opportunity to connect with the solitude of the valley and culture of Taos within the comfort of a serene spa. You pay attention to detailand ensure youput a personal touch that says every guest is special. You have the knowledge and ability to perform facials and body services that meet the guidelines and expectations as laid out by the Spa Manager as well as within the guidelines established by your current licensure within the State of New Mexico. You maintain the highest level of product knowledge and have a complete understanding of all spa services offered. You know the ingredients in products and can explain their benefits to guests and help answer any guest questions in a positive and professional manner.
As Blake Hotel staff you are knowledgeable about Taos Ski Valley, The Blake Hotel, and The Spa and able to provide direction to guests to include packages offered, hours of operation, class schedules of The Spa & Fitness Center, mountain statistics, and the adventurous offerings of our scenic surroundings. You try to remember unique things about each guest's experience and reach out to them post-visit. You are responsible for cleanliness in your designated treatment room and follow checklists to ensure room cleanliness between each guest as well as at the end of your shift.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
Adheres to policies of Taos Ski Valley, Inc. Performs facials and body services that adhere to the established treatment protocols while fulfilling guests unique expectations. Performs all treatments on the services menu based on current licensure. Assesses contraindications of guests that may require modification of the service or prevent the service from taking place Meeting guests needs through engaging in active listening from guest pick-up to drop-off Cleans and disinfects all equipment and treatment room daily Recommend products and after-care for at-home support Suggests to guests other beneficial treatments offered in the spa Begin and end all treatments on time. Work assigned schedule and arrive and depart from shift on time Ensures that work areas are clean and set according to procedures Inform the Spa Director/Manager or other management personnel about product and or maintenance needs. Attends all scheduled meetings Attends scheduled professional training. Reports any incidents or accidents to a member of the management team. Other duties as assigned

Qualifications/Knowledge:
High School Diploma or GED preferredCurrent & Valid New Mexico License in EstheticsCustomer service experience, preferably in a spa and or salon
Growing knowledge of spa treatments/services and skincare technologies and tools Literacy in skin types, widely used skincare ingredients and chemicals, skin conditions, and medications affecting and or used for the skin
Ability to explain various treatments/services and educate guests on skin health and at-home skincareMust be able to manage time, maintain an organized workspace, and be able to handle a variety of duties simultaneouslyMust have a professional manner, use discretion with guests and other staff, and have a polished appearance while workingDemonstrates comfort level in product knowledge and product recommendationAbility to work a flexible schedule including weekends, holidays, and evenings.
Work Environment:
Taos Ski Valley, Inc. is often a fast-paced work environment, especially during holidays and Peak days. TSVI is located in a high-altitude alpine environment. Position may require travel on uneven, snow-packed, or icy terrain and may be exposed to wet, cold, and/or humid conditions. Must be able to work in close quarters and with spa guests and other staff. Work conditions will include exposure to a variety of odors and smells as well as different cleaning supplies and skincare products.
Physical Demands of Position Include:
The Licensed Esthetician position requires you to lift up to 25 pounds on a frequent basis and occasionally group lift up to 50 pounds. This position requires you to be able to talk, hear, smell, stand, and walk 80-90% of the time and to sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend 10-20% of the time.
This position will require you to clean floors, surfaces, and spa machinery like a high-frequency device, steamer, hot towel cabinet, and electric treatment tables. You will be asked to work with and apply a variety of skincare products and ingredients to meet different guest needs and treatment protocols. You will spend about 5% of the job on the computer and cellular phone navigating scheduling software and human resources software.
