Pre-K Morning ELC Assistant (Creative Design)
Position Summary:
Provide direct supervision of a group of children in a safe, enjoyable, positive and inclusive environment, sometimes independently.
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
Supervise all children and activities within the program areaImplement daily lesson and activity plansComply with state and local regulations as well as YMCA standards and proceduresAdhere to program standards including safety and cleanliness standardsAttend and participate in family events, program activities, and staff meetings as directedFollow YMCA policies and procedures, including those related to medical and disciplinary situations, child abuse prevention and emergenciesMaintain positive relations with participants, parents and other staffDiapering and toilet training for children including assisting children in changing out of soiled clothingPerform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Minimum age 18
Meet educational and experience qualifications established by Department of Child Youth and Families (DCYF). Including ECE college certificates / coursework within 5 years of position or as designated by the DCYF
Provide document of all certification and training requirements established by DCYF, including position prerequisites, current negative TB test, MMR vaccine or proof of immunity, and portable background checkFluency in second language desired

Physical Demands:
As directed, lead and participate in a range of activities in indoor/outdoor settings. Sufficient strength, agility and mobility to perform essential functions of position and to safely supervise program activities. Staff may be required to move weights of approximately 50 pounds. While performing the duties of this job, employees are regularly required to sit, walk and stand; talk or hear, both in person and by telephone; use hands repetitively to handle, feel or operate standard office equipment; reach with hands and arms; and lift up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and the ability to adjust focus.
