GIS Technician (Information Technology)
The GIS Technician creates, updates, and edits maps using computer systems and occasionally performs manual drafting. This role involves managing spatial data and applying GIS knowledge to support energy-related projects. The technician handles assignments independently, solving problems using established or adapted procedures. Guidance is minimal except for complex tasks. In this role, you will collaborate with team members or contribute to specialized projects while also managing tasks independently.
Key Responsibilities:
Process and manage survey data while supporting the survey team, including upgrading and maintaining data systems and networks.Organize and assist with mapping, data processing, and related tasks for various projects by applying surveying and data management expertise.Process field data, manage point cloud files, ensure accurate mapping, and prepare document deliverables for agency submissions while maintaining survey data systems and network operations.Perform all duties with a strong focus on safety and efficiency at the worksite.Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:
Associate's or Bachelors degree in Geography, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Environmental Science, or a related field. Equivalent coursework or technical training in GIS and related systems may be considered.Internship experience or 02 years of relevant work experience in GIS, data management, or a related field.Exposure to GIS software such as ArcGIS or QGIS through coursework, projects, or prior work experience.Familiarity with basic field data collection tools and processes (e.g., GPS units, mobile data collection apps) is a plus but not required.
Work Environment:
This role offers flexibility, with the ability to work remotely, in the office, or in the field, depending on project requirements.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position. Standard working hours are Monday through Friday, with occasional evening networking, trade show overnights, and local business development events.
Travel:
Travel may be required as needed to meet project and client demands.
