Deputy Court Clerk I (Camera Radar/Red Light) (Finance)

The Camera Radar Court Clerk I position performs entry-level court clerical/technical administrative support duties, including data entry, payment processing, monitoring, and maintaining court documentation for cases. The ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced and changing environment as well as communicate accurate information and provide documents to internal and external customers regarding court processes and proceedings is vitally important. This role will manage the in-person and virtual scheduling for all court hearings and trials, the administrative processing of court cases, and trial document preparations for Camera Radar/Red Light (CRRL) violations. Other tasks include processing customer payments, cash handling, communication related to the Camera Radar/Red Light Program, and working with external partners to resolve questions and issues as needed. In addition to CRRL court clerk duties, this position may also assist with Deputy Court Clerk I and bailiff responsibilities as needed.
The ideal candidate will have one year of customer service experience (phone and/or in-person) and at least one year of work or educational experience with math and handling cash, data entry, and using appropriate safety precautions in interactions with co-workers and clients.
Municipal Court is considered a Special Place of Public Trust, and therefore, all court positions are held to a standard of conduct (on and off duty as applicable) that promotes public confidence in the integrity and impartiality of the judicial system. These standards include, but are not limited to, upholding the constitutions and laws of the United States of America, the State of Colorado, and local City of Fort Collins ordinances, policies, and procedures. Interested candidates should know that felony convictions and some misdemeanor convictions will prevent them from performing the essential job functions in some positions within Municipal Court.

Serve the public with respect, concern, confidentiality, courtesy, and responsiveness in the performance of all duties providing procedural assistance as needed without giving legal advice.Provides exceptional customer service to all inquiries via telephone, in person, or email. Processes dispositions on cases, accurately applies customer payments and maintains a cash drawer, assists customers in preparing and adjusting payment arrangements, and changing court dates.Utilize data entry skills to process numerous requests to update case files and case management records and preparing and entering new citations in the computer system.Maintains court records.Maintains, monitors and tracks open cases through completion.May assist and perform duties of Deputy Court Clerk II clerk(s) because of absence or due to demanding workloads and/or cross training purposes.Monitor the trial and arraignment dockets.Performs other related duties as assigned.
