Experienced Boatyard Hand / Equipment Operator (Manufacturing)
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Operate heavy equipment including, but not limited to: forklift, travelift, and hydraulic trailer to move, haul, and launch boatsBe able to operate machinery efficiently, effectively and demonstrate safe handling of vesselsInspect, maintain, and repair equipment to ensure operationalPerform general boat maintenance and service work including, but not limited to: pressure washing, buffing & waxing, bottom painting, zinc replacement, etc.Grounds/facilities maintenance and marina cleanlinessAvailability to work overtime when requiredCarry out additional duties as assigned by supervisor & assist fellow crewmembers as needed
Safety and Environmental Responsibilities
Follow SHM Safety and Environmental rules and complete required related trainingWear proper personal protective equipment (may include safety glasses, gloves, life jackets and/or hard hats) as required for the task or work areaReport all accidents, injuries, spills and near misses immediately
Technical and Physical Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent required1-2 years relevant experience preferredForklift experience preferredBasic boat handling skills requiredAbility to ascend and descend a ladderAbility to work in all weather conditionsAbility to work in confined spacesAbility to lift 50 poundsMust possess a valid drivers license
