Support the US & Canada direct tax and indirect tax strategies in support of Yanfeng's business objectives
Primary Responsibilities:
Ensure timely and accurate preparation, review, and filing of US & Canada tax returns and payments.
Ensure proper financial reporting of US & Canada taxes in coordination with corporate accounting team, including interfacing with external and internal teams.
Collaborate with finance, legal, and operating team members on business issues (including intra-regional and inter-regional transfer pricing matters) and clearly communicate relevant tax aspects
Support defense of prior tax positions as audited by US & Canada tax authorities
Support negotiation of grants and incentives with various US & Canada state and local authorities
Strengthen and manage the process/tools/systems underlying the North American tax function
Oversee tasks done by external service providers when necessary and work to “inhouse” items that can be worked on internally
Support external firm preparation of property tax returns and payments for all YF locations
Prepare, file, and pay monthly use tax accruals with the relevant authorities using Hyperion Financial Management (HFM), SAP, and QAD systems
Ability to communicate effectively and support business units in U.S. and international tax initiatives
Research and prepare tax memorandums of various international and U.S. tax issues
Qualifications:
Minimum of 3 years combined public accounting and/or corporate tax experience
Bachelor's degree in law or accounting; advanced degree preferred (e.g., Master of Science in Taxation, LLM in taxation)
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred
Prior experience with Hyperion Financial Management (HFM), QAD, or SAP
