We are seeking an enthusiastic communications specialist who collaborates effectively, stays organized, and balances multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment, communicating clearly to collaborators. You will be working with communication professionals to build positive narratives that engage the public's passion for Blizzard's games, services, and brand through various forms of media. You should be able to adapt quickly to changing factors, thrive in a fast-moving environment, and enjoy contributing within a culture of teamwork.

Our ideal candidate is passionate about communications and is looking to further establish their career in the field, working with and learning from a world-class communications team. You have 4+ years' experience in communications in the gaming, technology, media, and/or sports industries and are well-versed in the latest communications trends, methods, and PR tactics. You're excited to develop comprehensive communication campaigns from scratch and be instrumental in driving alignment, activations, and events across Blizzard's multiple teams and functions around the world.

You have a successful track record of building and maintaining strong media relations with key channels across gaming, lifestyle, and the entertainment sector. You're proficient in facilitating media interviews, staffing events, and liaising with the press, content creators, and executives.

Other areas of responsibility include coordinating communication beats and cascading information globally while assisting other members of the communications team with a variety of tasks. Impeccable verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, and a high degree of flexibility are desired qualities, and a passion for all things Blizzard Entertainment and gaming is a major plus.

Responsibilities:

• Execute high-impact communications campaigns/programs supporting Blizzard, its franchises, and people
• Arrange and manage official participation for speakerships, events, press tours, and interviews
• Communicate via phone/email with relevant media, content creators, and influencers
• Role requires both domestic and international travel, as well as attending in-person events as needed
• Assist with public relations activities related to announcements and events
• Source and coordinate art assets for use in print and online publications including social media
• Collaborate with and fulfill requests for international PR teams
• Build communication strategies, FAQs, press kits, and other materials to support the communications function
• Contribute to accurate, well-written news releases and other media materials on deadline
• Review and advise on text for Blizzard's websites and other public mediums as needed
• Coordinate PR efforts between different teams within Blizzard and the Xbox communications team
• Compile press coverage and prepare detailed executive summaries
• Take on other responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in public relations, marketing, or journalism, or equivalent experience
• Stable of relevant media relationships
• Excellent speaking, writing, time management, and organizational skills
• A minimum of five years' PR experience, preferably in the gaming or tech industry
• Ability to consistently exercise good independent judgment, coordinate thoughts, and implement plans under time constraints and a full workload
• Willingness to be flexible with work hours to support major company events and activations
• Diligent approach to each assignment, and motivation to consistently meet deadlines
• Ability to think strategically and creatively
• Team-focused mentality, while being able to proactively complete independent projects with minimal direction
• Proficient in the latest media trends, communication tools, and technology

• Proven list of video gaming, technology, entertainment & lifestyle and sports industry media and content creator contacts
• Crisis communications experience

In the U.S., the standard base pay range for this role is $26.83 - $49.63 Hourly. These values reflect the expected base pay range of new hires across all U.S. locations. Ultimately, your specific range and offer will be based on several factors, including relevant experience, performance, and work location. In addition to a competitive base pay, employees in this role may be eligible for incentive compensation. Incentive compensation is not guaranteed.
