Job Summary
The Laborer Sr is an experienced position to support all phases of utility construction for various types of telecom projects. In this role, you will work alongside an experienced Foreman/Linemen to install and maintain telecommunications equipment. Duties will include general labor duties related to telecommunications construction as directed by the Foreman/Supervisor. Services may include placing poles, anchors and guys, aerial strand and cable, burying conduit, trenching cable, conventional and directional boring, placing underground conduit systems, and performing inside wiring or cabling.
Qualification Requirements:
Education:
• High School Diploma is required for the role.
• Associate's/Technical Degree - two years is preferred for the role.
Experience Level:
• 2 years of Construction experience is Required.
• Previous construction experience, preferably in the telecommunication industry, is
• required.
• Previous experience operating or working around heavy equipment and machinery is
• required.
Job Skills & Knowledge:
• Able to perform all duties in telecommunication construction.
• Possess a valid driver's license and a good driving record.
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers, employees, etc.
• Willing and able to work in all weather conditions.
• Travel may be occasionally required.
• Attend all required safety training classes (Inclusive of, but not limited to, Work Aloft, Traffic Control, Safe Digging Practices, Confined Spaces).
• The ability to obtain a Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is a plus.
• Read and understand the National Electric Safety Code (NESC) and construction guidelines.
• Must be able to lift, reach, dig, and carry heavy objects with frequent lifting of up to 50 pounds and infrequent lifting of up to 100 pounds with assistance.
• Must be reliable, and able to show up on time or early
• Due to the nature of fieldwork, this position may require overtime, working on weekends, and holidays, and the possibility of being called in during off-hours.
