Project Engineer (Engineering)
JOB SUMMARY
The Project Engineer coordinates and ensures the completion of projects. Ensures all project elements comply with timelines, budget, and regulations. Identifies and resolves issues. Oversees the work of the Design Engineers to ensure work is in line with customer and regulatory requirements. Ensures effective communication and coordination between all disciplines and other project participants. Responsible for engineering and schedule for the program which includes drawing list and certification of deliverables.
Note: The primary difference between job levels tie to skill level, complexity of the problem solving, and year of experience. Job assignments will be based on experience, job opening and budget availability, and the performance level of the incumbent.

Takes ownership of assigned projects to ensure completion on time, on budget, and in compliance with regulations.
Provides technical input to program management related to engineering components of the project for the creation of the project schedule; identifies project elements and phases, sequencing elements, and timing estimates. For example, checks program schedule to ensure integration with concurrent projects and validates resource availability (manpower, software, materials, systems, etc.).
Performs technical analysis, reviews specifications, and product design to develop a cost and time estimate.
Monitors project progress and recommends schedule changes based on re-prioritization, materials availability, and as customer needs change.
Assesses impact of customer changes, time, cost, materials, and processes.
Identifies necessary tests that must be conducted during the engineering process. Monitors to ensure the completion of tests such as functionality, durability, and safety.
Provides regular verbal or written updates based on KPIs and project status. Analyzes data and recommends corrective action as needed.
Monitors the work of Design Engineers for accuracy and technical competence; provides feedback as needed.
Develops and maintains standard list of notes for use on 2D engineering drawings.
May work with management and sales teams to review project proposals; identify and addresses potential issues as needed.
Maintains a safe, secure and legal work environment, adhering to all Company policies and procedures.
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Maintains and protects the confidentiality of the Company's information and products.
Performs other duties and projects as assigned or requested.
GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS - Education, Knowledge, and Experience
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in mechanical engineering or similar discipline (is required)
Experience: Job assignments will be based on experience, job opening and budget availability, and the performance level of the incumbent.
Level l: 0-2 years of engineering experience
Level II: 2-5 years of engineering experience
Level III: 5+ years of experience
Skills:
Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
Ability to lead a team comprised of multiple disciplines
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Expert level of experience with CATIA V5
Ability to communicate and present to a variety of stakeholders (e.g., customers, OEM)
Proficiency with MS Office applications
Preferred Skills/Experience:
MS Project
PLM system knowledge
AutoCAD familiarity
Other:
May be asked to work extended or irregular hours as required.
Must show proof of ability to work in the United States.

Level I: Direction with necessary guidance is provided in terms of tasks and objectives and measured based upon how well objectives have been met. Receives detailed instructions as needed.
Level II: Direction is provided in terms of tasks and objectives. Work is reviewed upon completion on how well objectives have been met. Will autonomously work on routine programs / tasks with frequent status updates to supervisor. Will be provided with additional guidance on more complex or non-routine tasks.
Level III: Direction is provided in terms of tasks and objectives. Work is reviewed upon completion on how well objectives have been met. Will work autonomously with only occasional status updates with supervisor.
LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITY
Oversees the work of others. Assists in the training and coaching of project team members as assigned. Assist in driving the achievement of key initiatives of the project.
