Job Summary:
Under general direction, the Senior Buyer/Planner at Super Micro Computer, Inc. plans and coordinates the purchasing functions of the technological division; coordinate the work of the buyers, purchases high quality supplies, materials, and equipment's in accordance with formal bidding procedures; prepare specifications and contracts for services/supplies.

Commodity Management:
• Manage the end-to-end procurement process for assigned system-level key components of high-value and high-mix.
• Develop and maintain strategic relationships with suppliers to ensure consistent quality and supply reliability, especially when supply is constrained or demand spikes.
• Accurately translate the needs of each customer and each project to secure supply allocations, not only for orders on hand but also for potential or drop-in orders, to meet the company's fast growth.
• Stay on top with product trend and product roadmap, to manage product life and minimize excess and obsolete inventory.
Procurement Operations:
• Collaborate with Program Management teams to support system production plans.
• Plan and manage procurement activities by issuing POs in a timely manner and tirelessly manage push-and-pull based on production requirements and supplier lead time.
• Implement strategies for optimizing lead time and mitigating supply shortages.
• Monitor every PO closely in high-volume environments.
Inventory Management:
• Monitor inventory levels to meet production requirements while minimizing excess inventory and preventing line down.
• Constantly evaluate and readjust inventory level based on customer types, project wins and product trend changes.
New Product Introduction (NPI):
• Follow up supplier roadmap, supplier product launch and Supermicro's product readiness, to determine SKUs to enable.
• Set up Supermicro P/Ns and load to sales forecast system.
• Provide forecasts for suppliers.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, engineering or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience in procurement, commodity management, or supply chain roles, preferably in the technology or hardware manufacturing industry.
• Strong knowledge of sourcing and procurement best practices.
• Proven track record in supplier negotiations and relationship management.
• Proficiency in inventory planning, supply chain forecasting, and risk mitigation strategies.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, exercising sound judgment and decision-making skills.
Salary Range
$99,000 - $125,000
The salary offered will depend on several factors, including your location, level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience, and comparison to other employees already in this role. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation, such as participation in bonus and equity award programs.
