*Financial Coordinator (Project Management)
The Financial Coordinator for University Libraries has critical financial responsibilities consisting of, purchasing, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and deposits for a unit with a $21M budget. The coordinator works with OU PeopleSoft and OU Foundation accounts. This includes managing and reconciling all department accounts, organizing and processing thousands of transactions per year including complex library requisitions for domestic and international vendors, purchase order tracking, payment of invoices, journal entries, cost transfers and data entry in QuickBooks for all operations and collections transactions. Collections related purchase orders involve a complex budgeting and tracking system made up of 50 library collections-specific account codes that are part of the library management system and necessary for the required reporting for collection expense tracking and reporting to the Association of Research Libraries.
The coordinator will prepare cost reports to compare historical funding and expenditures, determine if funding/budgets are available for purchases, ensures funds are spent correctly, prepares data for various library departments, assists in comprehensive reviews of annual costs, responds to financial inquiries that require research and/or interpretation of university procedures, makes deposits, sets up new vendors and ensures invoices are correct, maintains financial filing system, assists the financial team in making decisions, analyzes procedures and recommends improvements, acts as backup to payroll and personnel functions, trains personnel in the use of library and university systems, supports administrative personnel who handle events and travel, and performs various duties as needed in order to fulfil the function of the position.
In addition, this position tracks and processes payments for University Libraries' Open Access publication support program and Alternative Textbook Grants.
Required Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Management, or related field.
Equivalency/Substitution: Will accept 48 months of related experience in lieu of the bachelor's degree.
