Senior Quality Engineer (Finance)
The Quality Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of our software products through the development, execution, and maintenance of automated and manual test scripts. This role is essential in fostering a collaborative environment between engineering teams, driving quality improvements and ensuring that defects are identified and resolved efficiently. This role will work closely with developers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure that testing processes are effective, and product meets the highest standard of performance and user experience
Essential Position Responsibilities - This is a salary exempt position
Automated Testing: Develop and maintain automated test scripts to streamline testing processes and improve efficiency across releases.
Contractor Review: Review and approve contractor's automation scripts, ensuring adherence to best practices, standards, and the company's quality goals.
Defect Management: Identify and document defects during the testing process. Collaborate with developers to resolve defects and ensure timely delivery of high-quality products.
Regression Suite Management: Conduct regular reviews of the regression suite to ensure its accuracy and adjust automation needs as required to align with new features and functionality.
Manual Testing Documentation: Perform manual testing as needed and document results to ensure all issues are clearly communicated. Track defects and work on eliminating repeat issues in future releases.
Collaboration & Teamwork: Work closely with cross-functional teams including developers, product managers, and contractors to ensure comprehensive testing and high-quality results. Share feedback, provide insights, and contribute to continuous improvement.
Process Improvement: Participate in quality control initiatives to enhance testing processes, improve efficiency, and minimize defects in future product releases.
Participates as a member of the Team . Participates in the ongoing development, communication and implementation of team concepts, programs, and policies; coordinates work to ensure best practices with all team members. Attends appropriate team meetings. As a member of the Team, fosters strong cohesiveness regarding all major issues, e.g., direction, annual plan, budget, policy changes, etc. Accepts responsibility to quickly identify any areas that lack cohesiveness, bringing them to the attention of the team leader and working with the team in a supportive manner to resolve issues and actively look for ways, and reinforce actions needed, to achieve synergy possible within the larger organization.
Simmons Operating systems principles and objectives: Is familiar with Simmons' established operating systems (e.g. quality, security, office environment, company policies, LEAN); understands the responsibility to maintain familiarity with the systems and this position's role in support of these systems - including a consideration of the impact of individual actions on the systems and the responsibility to communicate concerns and improvement ideas.

Travel: up to 20%
Technical Experience: 5 - 7 years of experience in quality assurance, quality control, and automated testing. Familiarity with test automation frameworks and tools (e.g. Selenium, Appium, etc.). Strong analytical skills and ability to identify, document and troubleshoot defects. Effective communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams. Experience in regression testing and maintaining test suites. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Creates KPIs based on strategic goals for Quality Assurance
Industry Experience: Experience in a manufacturing sector preferred. Team member should have knowledge of continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines, and Agile methodologies. Additionally, experience with performance testing tools is essential. Proficiency in writing scripts in either Python, JavaScript or Shell Scripting
Minimum Education: 4 -year college degree, preferably in computer science, software engineering or information technology, or a minimum of 4 years of functional experience in software testing automation
