Audience Development Manager (Creative Design)
Job Summary
The overall purpose of this position is to develop and execute strategies that support and promote IEEE Computer Society products, services, and events. This position is responsible for marketing plan development and implementation, campaign strategies, brand affinity and reach, and collaborating with various IEEE and volunteer teams. The individual in this role must be able to work with minimal supervision while independently managing concurrent projects. The incumbent will work across several related disciplines including (but not limited to): brand marketing, event marketing, product promotions, communications, analytics, and social media. The position will also manage other responsibilities including competitive research; creating, managing, and presenting marketing campaigns; and other projects as assigned. The incumbent plays a key role in driving the strategy, tactics and reporting for the IEEE CS events and services. The person in this role collaborates with external partners and internal teams, and provides ongoing analysis, recommendations, and best practices education, based on results and industry developments.
The role reports to a Sr. Marketing Manager, has no direct reports, and works collaboratively with internal teams.
Key Responsibilities
•
Be the marketing lead for event stakeholder meetings to understand the events' audience, opportunities, goals, and needs.

Plan, develop, and execute on marketing strategy for select IEEE CS events, including trade shows, conferences, and other events, as assigned.

Lead the development and execution of audience engagement and development strategies across digital publishing and distribution platforms.
•
Develop audiences on social media platforms for CS products, events, and services. Create assets—including promos, show clips, audiograms, and quote graphics—to promote events.

Monitor, track and analyze website and social media trends, behavioral data and competitive landscape to optimize traffic
and identify growth opportunities.

Deliver a demonstrable impact on audience growth, engagement and loyalty. Track audience growth, make recommendations for how we can replicate successes, and offer fresh perspectives on experiments we can run to elevate our social presence and increase referral traffic.

Contribute to team discussions, idea-generation, and campaign strategy.
•
Collaborate with content writers and volunteers to optimize stories for success on search, social, and other digital platforms. Create custom assets for social. The team will lean on this role for audience development strategy on major CS events, services, and initiatives.

Provide feedback and analysis on content performance and promotional campaigns.
•
Implement and encourage engagement best practices based on emerging digital trends, competitive business intelligence, and consumer insight.

Lead the trade show activities for select IEEE CS events, including booth presence, onsite and experiential engagements, offsite activations, and some speaker managements.
•
Assist in the pre- and post- event marketing campaigns to drive engagement, lead generation.
